Human Powered Racing youth camps are open to youth 8-16 years old who want to become better triathletes. Athletes must be able to ride safely on public roadways.
Spring Break Camp
March 26th – 30th, 2018
Looking for something fun to do on Spring Break? Human Powered Racing is hosting a youth triathlon camp. Participants will practice swimming skills, bike and run technique and transition skills using a variety of games and activities. The focus will be on physical literacy and fun. This camp is open to all ability levels.
The camp runs from 9 am to 3 pm each day. There is a fun aquathlon on Friday to wind up the camp.
Camp fee is $250 (+GST) and includes a welcoming package.
Participants are responsible for bringing a nutritious lunch, all sport related clothing and equipment, a mechanically sound bicycle and a bike lock.
Elk Lake Camp
July 30th – August 3rd, 2018
Our 2018 Elk Lake Youth Camp has been cancelled. Check back for this camp in 2019.
Elk Lake is the site of the longest running triathlon in Canada and home to the National Rowing Centre. It is a popular training venue for many athletes. Join us for 5 days of fun. Meet new people and make new friends.
The camp runs from 9 am to 4 pm, Monday to Friday. Athletes will be taught open water swim skills as well as proper cycling and running technique and how to transition quickly between the three sports. In addition, athletes will learn about proper nutrition, the philosophy and purpose of training, recovery, race preparation and season planning.
Camp fee is $300 (+GST) per athlete and includes a welcoming package, hydration and nutrition during the camp.
