A BIG Congratulations to Human Powered Racing Athlete Fawn Whiting who qualified for the Ironman World Championship with a 2nd place finish (in a time of 10:31!)  in her age group at Ironman New Zealand. Congratulations Fawn. Your team back in Victoria are proud of you!

Human Powered Racing Event Chosen as Qualifier

The Alberta Triathlon Association has announced that the RockSolid Vermilion Triathlon has been chosen as the Zone 7 Qualifier for the 2014 Alberta Summer Games Triathlon.  The Alberta Summer Games take place in Airdrie Alberta from July 24-27.  Athletes born from 1999 to 2002 who compete at the RockSolid Vermilion Triathlon will be eligible to qualify for the Alberta Summer Games.  There are 8 qualifying spots available, 2 male and 2 female in each of the 12-13 and 14-15 age …

Alberta Orientation Seminar

We are hosting a seminar for new triathletes participating in our Alberta events at the Vermilion Aquatic Centre on June 14, 2014 from 1 to 3 pm .  The seminar will be directed toward learning the fundamentals of participating in a triathlon.  Topics discussed will include race preparation and strategy, transition set up, and equipment selection.  There will be plenty of opportunity to ask questions.  The seminar will be a discussion and demonstration.  Participants are not required to bring their …

KOS Race Prep Camp announced for Alberta

Human Powered Racing is proud to host a Kids of Steel race prep camp in Vermilion and Lloydminster, Alberta.  The camp, on May 31 and June 1, 2014, is intended to help prepare young triathletes to participate in the RockSolid Vermilion Triathlon and the Lloydminster Triathlon.  Topics covered will include race course familiarization, transition set up, transition techniques, equipment, race preparation and race strategy.   The camp is free to all youth registered for either race.  Go to the event websites …
